Terms of use
The agreement between your family and Amana House for programs, the sites, and My Amana. Plain words on purpose.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, Inc. ("HIC," "we," "us"). They govern your use of the My Amana app, amana.kids, and the Amana House programs offered through them (together, "Amana").
- By creating a family account or registering a child, you agree to these Terms.
- You also agree to the Amana Participant Safety Waiver and Release, the Privacy notice and Photo consent, where they apply.
- If these Terms conflict with the Safety Waiver on activity risk, the Safety Waiver controls.
- If you do not agree, do not use Amana.
2. Eligibility and family accounts
- Only a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 may create a family account.
- Children do not hold their own accounts. You manage your child's registration, check-in and payments.
- You must give accurate, complete information and keep it current, including emergency contacts, authorized pick-up persons and health information.
- You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your log-in private and tell us right away if you think it has been misused.
- You may add a second parent or guardian to the account. Each adult on the account may act for the family.
- We may refuse, suspend or close an account that gives false information or breaks these Terms.
3. Registration, booking and capacity
- A signed Safety Waiver is required for each child before any booking is confirmed.
- Spots are confirmed only when My Amana shows the booking as confirmed.
- Sessions have capacity limits by age band to keep supervision safe. When a session is full, the app may place your child in the next open session or on a waitlist.
- Spots are first come, first served unless a program states otherwise.
- We may change session times, rooms, coaches or formats, and may combine or cancel sessions with low enrollment. We will notify you through My Amana.
- We may place a child in the age band that fits their age, size or skill, for safety.
4. Fees, payments and refunds
- Program fees are shown in My Amana before you book. All prices are in US dollars.
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. HIC does not store full card numbers.
- By booking a paid session, you authorize the charge shown at checkout.
- Refunds. If you cancel at least 24 hours before your child's first session, you receive a full refund. After that, refunds are prorated by the sessions remaining.
- Cancellations by HIC. If we cancel a session, you receive a refund for it.
- Conduct removals. A child removed for conduct is not refunded for that session or program.
- Unpaid balances may pause new bookings until paid.
5. Check-in, supervision and pick-up
- Every child must be checked in through My Amana at arrival and checked out at pick-up.
- Amana supervises your child only between check-in and check-out.
- We release a child only to you or an authorized pick-up person listed in My Amana. We may ask for photo ID.
- Please arrive on time. Repeated late pick-ups may lead to a pause in bookings.
- You are responsible for your child in the parking lot and anywhere outside the program area.
6. Conduct
Children. Every child is expected to meet the Amana standard: follow coaches' instructions, respect others, and practice good sportsmanship.
Parents and guests. Adults on HIC grounds must act respectfully toward children, coaches, volunteers and staff. Coaching decisions, such as playing time and placement, are made by Amana coaches.
We may warn, remove, suspend or dismiss any child or adult whose conduct is unsafe, disrespectful or against HIC's values. In serious cases we may act without a prior warning.
Amana coaches complete background checks through HIC.
7. Faith-based programming
Amana is a faith-based initiative of HIC. Programs open with bismillah and the Amana Pledge, and coaching may draw on the Quran and the example of the Prophet. By registering, you agree to your child taking part in this programming.
8. Communications
- By creating an account, you agree to receive messages about your account, bookings, schedule changes, closures and safety by app notification, email or WhatsApp.
- These service messages cannot be turned off while you have active bookings.
- Announcements and program news are optional. You can opt out in My Amana at any time.
- Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
9. Privacy and children's information
- What we collect. Parent and guardian contact details; your child's name, date of birth, sex, T-shirt size and age band; your HIC membership; emergency contacts and pick-up persons; health information you choose to share, such as allergies, medications and conditions; bookings, check-in and pick-up times, and payment records; the details recorded when you sign a waiver; and messages with staff.
- From parents only. We collect children's information from you, not from children directly.
- How we use it. To run programs, keep children safe, contact you, and improve Amana.
- Who sees it. Amana staff and coaches who need it for your child's sessions. Health information is limited to those responsible for your child's care.
- Service providers. We share information with the companies that run the app and process payments, only to provide those services: Google Cloud, Apple, Stripe, Resend, Meta (WhatsApp) and Checkr.
- Other sharing. We may share information when the law requires it, or in an emergency to protect a child's health or safety.
- No sale. HIC does not sell your or your child's information.
- If your information is exposed. We will tell you promptly if your or your child's information is exposed.
- Your choices. You can view and update your information in My Amana, or close your account. We keep records, such as attendance, safety records, signed waivers and payment records, so that attendance and safety history stays complete and as the law or our insurance requires.
10. Photos and media
- Amana may take photos or video only for children whose parent has said yes in Photo consent, a setting for each child in My Amana.
- You may take photos of your own child. Please do not post photos or video of other children without their parent's permission.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account or book for children who are not in your care
- Enter false information, including for another family
- Interfere with the app, try to access other accounts, or copy app data
- Use Amana to harass anyone, or to post anything unlawful, hateful or inappropriate for children
- Use Amana for advertising or selling without HIC's written permission
12. Shop purchases
- Items bought in the Amana Shop, such as uniforms and gear, are shown with price and sizes before checkout.
- Unused items in original condition may be exchanged or returned within 14 days. Worn or personalized items cannot be returned.
- Pick-up or delivery details are shown at checkout.
13. Intellectual property
The Amana name, logo, program designs, guides, the Amana Pledge, and all app content belong to HIC or its licensors. You may use them only to take part in Amana. You may not copy, sell or reuse them without HIC's written permission.
14. Disclaimers
- The app and website are provided "as is" by HIC and its service providers. We work to keep them accurate and available, but we do not promise they will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Schedules, spots and program details can change. My Amana shows the current information.
- Risks of taking part in Amana activities are covered by the Safety Waiver.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law, HIC and its service providers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from your use of the app or website. The total liability of HIC and its service providers for any claim about the app, bookings or payments is limited to the fees you paid to Amana in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time in My Amana or by contacting us. Your records are kept, so that attendance and safety history stays complete. We may suspend or close an account for breaking these Terms, unpaid balances, or conduct that puts children or others at risk. Sections that by nature should continue, such as payments owed, privacy, and limitation of liability, continue after an account is closed.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version in My Amana with its effective date and notify you of material changes. Continuing to use Amana after the effective date means you accept the update.
18. Governing law, disputes and contact
- Florida law governs these Terms.
- Before taking any formal action, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the issue informally for at least 30 days.
- Any court case must be brought in the state or federal courts for Seminole County, Florida.
